Primorsko is located on a peninsula jutting into the Black Sea between the lagoon-bay Stamopolu and Devil's Bay, at the foot of Strandzha peaks. Archaeological excavations at the mouth of the Ropotamo River have uncovered the remains of a prehistoric lake settlement. During the Roman rule in today's lands of Primorsko there was a Roman settlement, as evidenced by the found chromel of white limestone porous sea stone. Pieces of ancient pottery thrown from the sea can often be found on the shore. 4 sanctuaries, 12 dolmens and 10 mound necropolises were found here. Near Primorsko is the Ropotamo Reserve - a paradise representing the elegance of nature. Preferred destinations for tourists are protected areas such as the marshes Arkutino and Stamopolu, as well as the sand dunes Perla. Of great interest is the sanctuary "Beglik Tash", embodying the cult of the sun. The Thracian sanctuary was opened in 2003 and is defined as the earliest, so far discovered Thracian megalithic sanctuary in southeastern Thrace and on the Black Sea coast. The ancient bird road Via Pontica defines the region of Primorsko as extremely ecologically clean. The area is characterized by unique flora and fauna, which give it color and exoticism. Interesting for tourists are the ruins of the ancient fortress of Azine, the Thracian dolmens from the VI century BC. and the remains of the pre-Christian chapel of St. Paraskeva.
