At 28 km northeast of the town of Sandanski are the ski slopes at Kamenitza hut. They are equipped with three ski lifts. The hut has a ski wardrobe and offers ski equipment for rent. For a more secular skiing experience, the large winter resorts of Bansko and Dobrinishte are half an hour away by car.
For lovers of horses and horseback riding, the area offers many horse bases, with year-round training, horseback riding and boarding houses, as well as facilities and wonderful routes for individual riding or group riding.
In the Kresna Gorge, where the town of Sandanski is located, the Struma River forms dizzying rapids that attract fans of extreme rafting experiences and canyoning. Many centers offer both group and individual descents on the fast waters of the river.

WINERY
Sintika Wine Complex inherits the experience and scientific and technological achievements of a complex experimental station (KOS) - Sandanski. It is the successor of a centuries-old wine-growing tradition dating back to the time of the Thracians. The vineyards of the winery are located in an extremely favorable region along the valley of the Struma River near the Rupite area, the extinct volcano Kozhuh and the ancient Thracian town of Heraclea Sintica.
